It may be due to the legendary second Kitzbühel sound shift, but “Streif” is – with all due respect – complete nonsense. The farmer who once farmed the alpine pasture and following whom the slope is named was called “Straiff”. Some will now claim that it doesn’t really matter and that it’s just riding on the icing on the cake, and they’re right. It still needs to be said.
