between modernity and revitalization –

The Gabonese Press Agency is leaving the governorate of the Ogooué-Maritime province after more than 15 years to move into the premises of the provincial station Radio Mandji. The aim is to provide staff with better living and working conditions in the long term.

“This is part of improving the working conditions of the agents of the Gabonese Press Agency, so that the work is efficient. Today we see that this is a commitment that has come to fruition,” rejoices Stéphane Nguema Mboro, editor-in-chief of the AGP.

An initiative driven by the current administrator-director general Ghislain Ruffin Etoughet Nzuet, who during the AGP reflection days announced major projects to revitalize and modernize provincial antennas for better processing of information.

For Stéphane Nguema Mboro, “the objective is to ensure that what we are already doing can be improved, that the work is more productive, and that the Gabonese are informed of everything that is happening in the country.”

According to the company in charge of the work, EN.CO.LO BTP, the new building meets all the conditions for a better reception and optimal comfort.

“Inside we have the secretariat, offices including one for the manager and toilets that we have completely renovated,” confirms Ben Mabiala, head of the company.

The last step according to the managers of the Gabonese Press Agency remains the real estate, as well as all the equipment necessary for the proper functioning of this public sector press organ.

“The equipment is on its way, this is only the first phase of the project,” he reassured.

During the official handover of the keys to the head of the Port-Gentil branch, Patricia Mekui Asseko, the governor of the Ogooué-Maritime province, Paul Ngome Ayong in his speech invited the staff to make good use of this structure which exempts the Gabonese government from all expenses, before expressing his satisfaction with the achievement made by this Gabonese company.
