Bruno Rohart, coach of Diambars, spoke to Wiwsport regarding Bamba Dieng’s summer at OM and the strong return to the workforce of Igor Tudor of the former resident of “his” Institute.
Bruno Rohart is a straightforward man. Found in his office on Wednesday morning, the Diambars coach answered several questions in a two-part interview (1 & 2) with Wiwsport. And, of course, the new talent builder at the Institut de Saly might notescape being questioned regarding one of Diambars’ ambassadors: Bamba Dieng. The 55-year-old technician notably returned to the eventful summer of the African Champion who, pushed towards the exit, finally stayed at OM
“It was extremely difficult for him. I saw him not long ago because every time he comes to Senegal, he goes to Diambars, which not everyone does. It was an extremely violent time for him psychologically. OM did not give him a cgift. But it’s formative. In six months, he gained 5 years of high level experience. He was well advised. He is very strong mentally, that’s why I think he will have a great career.said the former coach of the Dakar Sacred Heart Academy.
“Bamba Dieng can take over from Sadio Mané”
After his aborted departure, Bamba Dieng had to wait until the end of September to play his first match of the season with Olympique de Marseille. Since then, he has only missed one Ligue 1 game and scored twice, in the Championship and then in the Coupe de France. For Rohart, it was the 22-year-old’s strength of character that changed the Olympian vision. “I didn’t have the chance to know him here as a player but I know he is a reliable and very serious boy. The proof is that OM are changing their tune. They realized they had made a mistake. »
“Now, Olympique de Marseille will do everything to extend it. Their balance of power is being reversed. It is he who now has things in hand. It is up to him to make the decisions they deem best. Anyway, hats off to him. He weathered a media storm and a enormous pressure. He is 22 years old and it is not easy to undergo this in a first experience in Europe. He can play anywhere now. I think he will have a great career. He can be the successor to Sadio Mané, even if it is not easy to be Sadio’s top level ”, concludes Bruno Rohart.
