Between 50 and 100 soldiers die every day in eastern Ukraine, according to Zelensky

He called eastern Ukraine “the most difficult front” for Ukrainians. These soldiers are “preserving our freedom and independence, which is being talked regarding around the world,” Zelensky said. This high number of deaths justifies, according to the Ukrainian president, the ban on men of military age from leaving the country.

Last April, Mr. Zelensky had reported some 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers dead since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24. The exact number of military casualties, however, was not mentioned because, according to the President’s adviser, Oleksy Arestovich, this is a war secret.
