A stone can get stuck as it passes out of the kidney because it can get stuck in one of the two ureters, which are the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder.
These can be of different sizes, as big as a pearl, or they can even be larger.
When the stone can block the flow of urine, it can cause great pain. Although it can also break off and travel through the urinary tract until it leaves the body without causing too much pain.

Liquids
To treat and prevent all types of kidney stones, it is important to drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated so that the urine remains diluted. This will make it much more difficult for stones to form.
Remember that drinking water is best, although you can also consume fruit juice. The ideal is to drink enough liquid throughout the day to produce approx. 2 liters of urine every 24 hours.
Your urine should be light in color, as dark yellow urine is a sign that you are not drinking enough fluids.
