A policeman from Yantarny, who was detained because of a bribe of two thousand dollars from an illegal diver, was recognized as the best district police officer in Russia.
In 2016, the man received an award from Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, and was also awarded a UAZ Patriot car and a special badge. Then he was promoted in rank – from senior lieutenant to captain.
“Currently, the employee has been suspended from duty, if his guilt is confirmed, he will be dismissed from the internal affairs bodies and held accountable in the manner prescribed by law,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kaliningrad Region reported.
On Tuesday, August 1, the Leningradsky District Court of Kaliningrad granted the investigator’s petition to place the former “people’s district policeman” in custody, the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Kaliningrad Region reports. The defendant was placed in a pre-trial detention center until September 30, 2023.
