Smiling, Valle, Maradiaga and their daughter appeared before the media gathered at the Virginia hotel, where the opponent was transferred as part of the group of 222 political prisoners sent by the government of Daniel Ortega to the US, following arriving at Dulles airport. , on the outskirts of Washington.
“We are very grateful to God, grateful to so many people who have made this miracle possible and, of course, to this nation that has become our second home,” Valle said.

Maradiaga, a former candidate for the Presidency of his country, arrived in the US on Thursday in a group of 222 political prisoners released by the government of Daniel Ortega, which has expelled them from the country and taken away their Nicaraguan nationality.
