Bernard-Henri Lévy warns of possible Russian influence in Senegal

The French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy warns of the risks of Russian influence in Senegal, following the situation in Sudan, and calls for an urgent awakening of the United States and the EU.

Bernard-Henri Lévy’s warning

French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy posted a message on his Facebook account today, in which he warns of the risk of increased Russian influence in Senegal. According to him, the current situation in Sudan is not just a clash between two generals, but rather a victory for Putin and Russia, who are manipulating the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by General Mohamed Hamdane Daglo.

In his publication, Bernard-Henri Lévy writes: “What is happening in Khartoum is not, as they say, a confrontation between two generals. It is a victory for Putin and Russia of which Daglo and the FSR are the puppets. After Sudan, Chad, CAR (Central African Republic) , or even Senegal? Urgent awakening of the USA and the EU. »

Bernard-Henri Lévy, a renowned philosopher, is also recognized for his reports from countries at war, which he has sometimes shown in French cinemas. This emblematic character, often dressed in a half-open white shirt, has been present on the front lines of many conflicts around the world, particularly in Syria, Libya and Ukraine.

The Senegalese context

It is important to stress that, for the moment, no declared candidate for the presidential elections scheduled for February 25 in Senegal has praised Vladimir Putin or approved of the war initiated by the Russian president once morest Ukraine.

The situation in Sudan

Fighting broke out on Saturday in Sudan, notably in Khartoum, between the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (FSR) of General Mohamed Hamdane Daglo and the army, led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhane. The paramilitary group claims to hold the presidential palace and the capital’s airport. A first assessment reports three dead.
