Real Madrid’s French striker Karim Benzema won the Ballon d’Or for the best player in the world on Monday.
Benzema won the award after leading Real Madrid to the Champions League and Spanish League titles last season, while the Egyptian Mohamed Salah was satisfied with getting the fifth place.
The award for the best club went to Manchester City, the English Premier League champion, and the Belgian Thibaut Courtois, Benzema’s teammate, won the award for the best goalkeeper in the world.
