France striker Karim Benzema raised concerns regarding his participation in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, following he left with an injury from the roosters’ training this evening, Saturday, in preparation for the Australia match.
And the French RMC network reported that Benzema participated in the group training of the French national team at the “Jassim bin Hamad” stadium today for the first time since the start of the team camp.
She added that Benzema left the training session before its end following suffering an injury.
The network did not reveal the details of the injury, but only indicated that the Real Madrid striker’s participation in the World Cup “is in great danger.”
Benzema had joined the French national team camp earlier, despite his incomplete readiness, as he missed Real Madrid’s recent matches.
Benzema hopes that a player in history will win the Champions League, the Golden Ball, and the World Cup in one calendar year.
France is playing in Group D of the 2022 World Cup, with Australia, Denmark and Tunisia.
The Roosters begin their campaign to defend their title by meeting Australia at Al Janoub Stadium next Tuesday.
