5th-placed Jeju, which drew 2-2 with Daegu, confirmed Final A for the second year in a row

Pro soccer K League 1 Suwon FC continued their dream of advancing to the Final A for the second year in a row thanks to Lee Seung-woo’s multi-goal performance.

Suwon FC won 2-1 thanks to Lee Seung-woo, who scored the winning goal in the 45th minute following the opening goal in the 21st minute in the home match against Sangmu Gimcheon in the 32nd round of Hanawon Q K League 1 2022 held at Suwon Sports Complex on the 13th.

With this, Suwon FC moved up from 7th to 6th place with 44 points (12 wins, 8 draws and 12 losses), beating out Gangwon FC (42 points, 12 wins, 6 draws and 14 losses), which lost 0-1 in the away match against FC Seoul.

However, there is still a chance to advance to Final A, where the top six teams from Gangwon Province, which placed 7th, compete.

In the 33rd round on the 18th, which will be the last game before the final round, Suwon FC will play an away match against leader Ulsan Hyundai, and Gangwon will play a home match against 5th place Jeju United.

Seungwoo Lee broke the balance in the 21st minute of the first half.

Gimcheon defender Choi Byung-chan tried to kick the ball with his head, which Lee Yong-yong passed from the right full-back from the rear, but he couldn’t handle it properly.

Then Seung-woo Lee caught it and opened the goal with a right-footed shot from the left inside the penalty area with two opposing defenses in front.

It was Lee Seung-woo’s 12th goal, the most goals scored by Suwon FC this season.

In addition, ahead of this month’s A match against Costa Rica and Cameroon, it was a goal like Lee Seung-woo’s armed protest against not being included in the 26 Taegeuk warriors selected by the national team coach Paulo Bento on that day.

After scoring, Lee Seung-woo raised his shirt and said, ‘Sangheon, be strong! I’ll always be by your side.”

It was a ceremony to comfort Lee Sang-heon (Busan I-Park), who was recently killed by his mother.

However, Suwon FC’s lead did not exceed the first half.

In the 40th minute of the first half, the defense between the defenders did not match on the left side of the penalty area.

Suwon pushed Kim Cheon to score an additional goal in the second half, but in the 23rd minute of the second half, Kim Gun-woong’s shot hit the crossbar, and the goal was unlucky.

In the 30th minute of the second half, at the perfect opportunity created by Seungwoo Lee, Hyun Kim’s shot was blocked by goalkeeper Kim Jeong-hoon, and Lars’ decisive header after 7 minutes was also saved by Kim Jeong-hoon.

In the 45th minute of the second half, which seemed to end in a draw, Lee Seung-woo again came out as a solver.

The ball that Lars dropped into the header from the left side of the penalty area was scored by Lee Seung-woo with a right-footed turning shot from the left inside the penalty area.

Cheon Kim, who is struggling to escape the relegation zone, has moved down one place to 11th with 31 points (7 wins, 10 draws and 15 losses).

Seoul won the home match against Gangwon with Cho Young-wook’s goal in the 28th minute of the second half, but it was difficult to advance to the Final A for the first time in three years since 2019.

Seoul, which has won the first time in 5 games after 2 draws and 2 losses, maintained 8th place with 41 points (10 wins, 11 draws and 11 losses).

However, Suwon FC, which is ranked 6th with three points, is far behind with 38-51 goals in the number of points, so even if they win the 33rd round, it is virtually difficult to rise to 6th place.

Seoul, who finished the first half without a goal, gave strength to the front by replacing Ki Seong-yong in the 17th minute of the second half as the attack did not work out.

Kang Seong-jin also stepped on the ground in the 28th minute of the second half.

The two worked together to score the winning goal, repaying coach Ahn Ik-soo’s trust.

The cross raised by Kang Seong-jin from the right flank was connected by Cho Young-wook with a sensational header, shaking Gangwon’s goal net.

Jeju FC and Daegu FC drew 2-2 at home, but were confirmed to advance to the Final A for the second year in a row.

5th place Jeju has 46 points (12 wins, 10 draws and 10 losses), and 4 points ahead of 7th place Gangwon, regardless of the result of the 33rd round, at least 6th place can be secured.

Daegu moved up to 10th with 32 points (6 wins, 14 draws and 12 losses), swapping the rankings with Gimcheon.

Jeju took the lead in the 21st minute with Kim Joo-gong’s penalty goal.

Kim Joo-gong kicked a penalty kick with his right foot, which Jin Seong-wook was awarded for a foul by Lee Jin-yong of Daegu, and was hit by goalkeeper Oh Seung-hoon and entered the goal.

In the 16 seconds after the whistle blew at the start of the second half, Jin Seong-wook passed a pass by Jin Seong-wook to the left of the goal area and finished with a left-footed shot.

Daegu’s counterattack was also strong.

In the 13th minute of the second half, Sejinya, who received a pass from Ko Jae-hyeon, scored with a left-footed shot from near the arc, and in the 22nd minute, Jeka’s pass was connected with a left-footed shot by Ko Jae-hyeon from the left of the penalty spot, turning the game back to the origin in an instant.
