Burnley recently lost striker Chris Wood to Newcastle United who are also struggling to retain him; the Clarets will therefore have to strengthen this winter, because they are currently red lantern in the Premier League, three points from the first non-relegation. To do this, they would have targeted two players, claims the Sun : Christian Benteke and Divock Origi.
The 30 million euros obtained for Wood could thus be reinvested and Benteke would be available for around 12 million, even if he signed a new contract at Crystal Palace last year (until June 2023). Origi is at the end of his contract next June and will be able to leave Liverpool for free, but a departure this winter is not on the program. Two tough options then for Burnley…
