Benson Boone’s emotionally resonant hit “Beautiful Things” has claimed the prestigious spot as the most-played song on Gabb Wireless phones, dominating the inaugural Top Gabb Music Songs chart for October 2024.
As announced on November 14, Billboard has forged a partnership with Gabb Wireless, a pioneering phone company dedicated to kids and teens, to unveil a monthly chart that meticulously tracks on-demand streams via its Gabb Music platform. Notably, Gabb Music curates a rich catalog of songs, ensuring all selections cater exclusively to a young audience, comprising only kid- and teen-appropriate content. It’s important to note that Gabb Music streams are not currently included in any other Billboard rankings.
Boone’s “Beautiful Things” not only leads this groundbreaking 25-position list but is also one of two songs by the talented pop singer-songwriter featured within the initial top 10. Released earlier this year in 2024, the song achieved a remarkable peak of No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March and currently holds the No. 8 position on the latest Billboard survey dated November 16, 2024. Impressively, it garnered an astounding 82.7 million official U.S. streams in October alone, as reported by Luminate.
In a noteworthy presence, Boone also marks his spot in the top 10 of Top Gabb Music Songs with his other track, “Slow It Down,” which is ranked at No. 9; it had previously peaked at a commendable No. 32 on the Hot 100 in September.
The top 10 of Gabb’s chart further showcases country music with Luke Combs’ heartfelt track “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” sitting at No. 2. This song is a part of the soundtrack for Twisters: The Album and previously reached as high as No. 13 on the Hot 100 in August, additionally securing the No. 3 position on the Hot Country Songs chart in September.
Meanwhile, at No. 3, KSI’s infectious track “Thick of It,” featuring Trippie Redd, marks the top hip-hop entry on the chart and is also the newest release, having made its debut on October 3. KSI is not just a musical artist but also a prominent YouTube influencer with nearly 25 million subscribers; his latest funky track achieved a peak position of No. 64 on the Hot 100 chart dated October 26.
Continuing a rich trend of genre variety, Hozier’s captivating single “Too Sweet” proudly stands as the rock/alternative representative in the Top Gabb Music Songs’ top 10, occupying the No. 4 spot. It shares the distinction of being one of only two songs in this elite top 10 to have reached No. 1 on the Hot 100, alongside Sabrina Carpenter’s catchy anthem “Please Please Please,” which holds the No. 8 slot, having dominated the chart for a week back in April.
Notably, NF charts the most entries in the top 10 with a total of three songs; leading this impressive collection is the 2017 hit “Let You Down,” which triumphantly sits at No. 5. Following closely are “Hope” at No. 7, from his recently released album of the same name, and “The Search,” which occupies the No. 10 position as the title track from his 2019 project.
The versatile rapper NF doesn’t stop there; he boasts an impressive No. 13 entry with “Motto,” culminating in a total of four entries on the inaugural Top Gabb Music Songs chart. This achievement puts him second only to Imagine Dragons, who has five entries, led by their hit “Bones” at No. 16.
For a look back at classic hits, though, we have Imagine Dragons making their presence known with their enduring tracks “Radioactive” (No. 19) and “Demons” (No. 21), both drawn from the band’s iconic 2012 album Night Visions, marking them as the oldest songs featured on this chart, while the fresh release “Thick of It” is recognized as the newest addition.
