Manchester City and France footballer Benjamin Mendy has denied the charges of rape and assault during his trial at Chester Crown Court.
The 27-year-old has pleaded not guilty to Chester Crown Court on nine counts of sexual offenses once morest six women.
The Manchester City defender stood in the dock and repeated the phrase “not guilty” as he was charged for making his first petitions.

The France international defended himself following being accused of rape in 7 cases, one count of sexual assault, and attempted rape, all of which relate to six complainants.
All the crimes allegedly occurred at his home address and stretched between October 2018 and August last year.
None of the complainants might be identified by law and today’s hearing moved to a private hearing with the press excluded following pleading not guilty.
Mendy will stand trial from July 25 along with his co-defendant Louis Saha Matori, 40, accused of 10 crimes involving seven women, including seven counts of rape involving five women and three of sexual assault.
The defendants were released on bail in January following they had been detained since their first arrest on August 26 last year.
As part of the terms of his release on bail, Mendy had to confiscate his passport and reside at his home in Cheshire. He was also asked not to contact any of the complainants.
It is reported that Mendy joined City from Monaco in 2017 in a deal worth more than 50 million pounds, and the France international has made more than 70 appearances for Manchester City.
