During the followingnoon of this Saturday, it was announced that the remembered leader of the folkloric group Los Huasos Quincheros, Benjamín Mackenna passed away at the age of 88 for reasons that are still unknown.
Mackenna led the group until 2018, when he had been leading the musical group for 60 years.

The musician was also a member the directory of the Cultural Corporation of Las Condes.
His story with Los Huasos Quincheros started in 1958following studying Law which he did not conclude. In 1965, he assumed the leadership of the group.
In February 2021, the artist suffered a stroke that kept him hospitalized. In addition, said condition affected his mobility on the left side of his body.
