By press release No. 1480-23 / AN/SGA dated April 20, 2023, the President of the National Assembly Louis G. VLAVONOU invites his fellow deputies for a plenary session with two important points on the Agenda: 1) – Examination of the activity report of the President of the National Assembly and 2)- Resumption of the elections of the other members of the Bureaux of the Standing Committees.
With regard to the first item on the agenda, it should be emphasized that it is in compliance with the obligation of accountability of the President of the National Assembly set out in the provisions of article 21 of the Internal Regulations of the Parliamentary Institution that President VLAVONOU will undergo this exercise for the 7th times since the 8th Legislature, and the very first time on behalf of the new Legislature, the 9th.
This article provides that: The President of the National Assembly must report to the National Assembly on his activities, his management and provide it with any explanations that may be requested of him.
To this end, the president must, at the beginning of each ordinary session, present a report on his activities and his management.
The National Assembly deliberates on it and either takes note of this report or asks the President to provide it with all the explanations and justifications it deems necessary.
It adopts the report or rejects it by a majority of its members. »
With regard to the second point on the agenda of the plenary session of this Thursday, April 27, 2023, it is Decision DCC 23-054 of March 09, 2023 of the Constitutional Court which invites the deputies to proceed to the resumption elections of the other members of the Bureaux of the Standing Committees.
