Beneo Orafti Chile, based in Pemuco, has been focusing its efforts since 2020 on achieving practices to promote diversity, according to Francisca Oyarzún, head of Human Resources at the firm.
“First, we carry out a diagnosis, then we develop a plan and subsequently create our diversity and inclusion policy taking into account the opinion of all our collaborators,” he said.
She added that this policy aims to create inclusive and safe work environments for employees, regardless of disability, belonging to indigenous peoples, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age and immigration status. In addition, gender-sensitive language is used.
Along these lines, Beneo also renovated its internal infrastructure based on the Universal Accessibility Model. The project included, among other improvements, the incorporation of podo-tactile tiles, widening of sidewalks up to 120 cm in some sections, modification of the Roman ramps to ground level, provision of bathrooms with universal access and renovation of the building’s elevator.
The company was certified by the Center for Evaluation and Certification of Labor Competencies, Ecerlab.
