After their apologies, according to information from “pelop.gr“, two minors were remanded in custody and the rest of the defendants were released with restrictive conditions.
An end to the action of the “gang of 9” who in the last 4 years, with the camp in Riganokambos as their base, had “hit” 93 houses with the loot amounting to 280,000 euros, entered during the operation of the Security police, on Friday morning in Eglikada and Prosfygika.
Among those arrested were five minors, with the youngest, as “P” wrote, being 12 years old. A criminal case file was filed against them for establishing and participating in a criminal organization and committing thefts, both as a follow-up and as a profession.

It was dismantled after a methodical investigation by the police officers of the Patras Security Directorate, a criminal group whose members committed thefts in Patras. For this case, yesterday 4-10-2024, in the morning, in Patras, by policemen of the Security Sub-Directorate of Patras in cooperation with Services of the Police Directorate of Achaia, nine local men, of whom five are minors, were arrested a criminal case file for founding and participating in a criminal organization and committing theft, both as a follow-up and as a profession.
In addition, the details of three more wanted accomplices were identified, while a case was filed against the parents of the minors for the crime of neglecting the supervision of a minor. From the investigation of the police officers of the Patras Security Directorate in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Department of the General Regional Police Directorate of Western Greece, it was determined that those arrested from the end of 2020 until the year 2024, in Patras, committed a total of 93 cases of house theft from which they removed money, jewelry and other items with a total value of 279,977 euros.
Regarding the methodology of the criminal group, it is pointed out that the above defendants, especially in the morning hours, started from the camps where they lived and divided into groups of three or four people, with distinct roles, went to areas adjacent to the camp and committed thefts, mainly in single-family houses. In the majority of cases, the entry into the houses was done by climbing and by entering through an open window or balcony door, while in some cases by breaking a window or an external entrance door. The arrested persons were taken to the District Attorney of Patras, while investigations continue to determine if they are involved in other cases of theft.
