Ben Brereton and the desire for him to be in La Roja ‘annoyed’ Blackburn’s manager

Tony Mowbray, DT of Blackburn, highlighted the presence of Ben Brereton in La Roja for Qualifiers and did not hide his annoyance with the Chilean National Team.

Tony Mowbraycoach of Blackburn Rovers, once once more attacked the Chilean National Team and the intentions of having the striker Ben Brereton Diaz for the last two dates of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers.

The attacker, from the records of the English Championship draw, suffered a grade 2 sprain and continues with his recovery thinking of being in the decisive day of the World Cup.

The foregoing, however, does not make Blackburn manager very happy who, in a press conference, slipped the presence of ‘Big Ben’ in the Qualifiers with criticism of the national team.

“Brereton Díaz is ahead of schedule. There are debates taking place at the moment regarding its international status. It seems as if Chile was going to summon him”, Mowbray started commenting.

“They want their medical department to check him out, but he can only play if he is fit.. He is at the top, but he will not be in shape because he has not played for five or six weeks, ”added the Lancashire strategist.

Later, Tony Mowbray insisted that “by FIFA rules they can call him. Is Brereton going to play once morest one of the best teams in the world if he is not fit? They would be crazy if they did that.”.

“Or are they that desperate to use an injured player? Surely they have another striker who is in good shape”, added the former English player.

To close, the Blackburn manager stated that “we don’t want to fight with Chile, we have had a great working relationship with them. The fact is that they sent their sporting director to discuss the situation, he has a lot of integrity. We’re going to wait and see how he evolves, but it looks like Ben will go.”

It is worth mentioning that Chile will visit Brazil on March 24 and will close the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers by receiving, on March 29, Uruguay.
