In addition to Affleck and Damon, renowned film companies Dimension Films, Disney, Lionsgate, Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures were accused of negligence and allowing plagiarism and harassment once morest women.

In an unusual revelation, a New York lawyer has filed a lawsuit once morest Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, accusing them of a shocking case of espionage and harassment that seems straight out of a horror movie. According to court documents obtained by Daily Mail, the woman claims she was harassed and watched for more than 20 years, with bugs in her home and hacked devices. The purpose? Allegedly using intimate details of her life in the creation of cinematographic works.

Let us remember that, in addition to being actors, Affleck and Damon also serve as screenwriters and producers. In the strange complaint, the lawyer alleges that both used her personal identity to develop sketches for “Saturday Night Live,” as well as for scripts for films produced in Hollywood by Harvey Weinstein. As if that were not enough, the serious accusation also implicates Ben’s brother, Casey Affleck, his wife Jennifer Lopez, Kevin Smith, Ryan Seacrest and Weinstein himself, according to the lawsuit filed under the Adult Survivors Act.

But how did the contact between both Hollywood actors and the lawyer begin? It all dates back to 2001. In the legal document, the plaintiff admitted to having joined the “Project Greenlight” website, created by Damon and Affleck for writers to discuss their ideas and view contest submissions. She indicated that this association would have served as a bridge for her private life to be extracted and narratively manipulated since then.

The mysterious plaintiff said she joined “Project Greenlight,” Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s website for writers, in 2001. A year later, the alleged harassment began and lasted almost two decades

The woman, whose name was omitted for privacy, identified an alleged reproduction of her nudity in the works published in 2023 by a characteristic scar of hers. It is alleged that she unwittingly became part of a simulation by the duo partners. She even accused renowned film companies Dimension Films, Disney, Lionsgate, Warner Bros and Paramount Pictures of negligence and allowing plagiarism and harassment. In this regard, the parties involved have not yet issued statements or official response.

Marked by scars from a car accident in 1985 and by short-term memory loss, she would have begun to notice the similarities between her life and entertainment content during a time when she was resting. Specifically, she pointed out that, following seeing the productions several times, she identified similarities between her life and the plots of the successful films “Maid in Manhattan” (2002), starring López, and “Gone Girl” (2014), starring Affleck.

Even more peculiar details are recorded in his lawsuit: a strange count of characters in films and series with physical features and names similar to his. For this reason, he accused The Weinstein Company of using his identity in more than 40 films and programs, claiming to identify a series of “repetitive” patterns that include his personal tastes, physical appearance and even his daily activities such as his favorite music, philosophers to whom referred to and the KFC near his home. He noted that elements of his such as hourglasses, owls and personal symbols were used in multiple works.

After 22 years of having starred in “Maid in Manhattan”, Jennifer López is also facing a lawsuit from the lawyer, who stated that the film and her character are inspired by her private life (Shutterstock)

The woman claimed to have found spy devices in her home and to be a victim of electronic surveillance: she found a microphone, saw an owl-shaped camera pointed at her house, woke up to find a man in her bedroom and saw a man pointing it at her with a telescope following an alert that his emails had been hacked, according to the lawsuit.

But the legal document was not only limited to harassment from afar. He claimed that he had strange “chance” encounters with Affleck and Damon in New York in 2007, 2009 and 2019, where he allegedly saw Affleck walking towards her in Manhattan and getting into her subway car; as well as Damon standing outside a restaurant where she ate for twenty minutes. The lawyer recounts a history of episodes that involve both physical and digital harassment, manifested in tangible and invasive moments of her personal and professional space.

Incredible as it may seem, the surprising demand is not only focused on the creative sphere. She also mentions strange temporal coincidences with public and personal events of Affleck and Lopez: according to her, real events such as the purchase of a house in Savannah, Georgia are also related to her personal life, following she applied for a job there.

In the strange complaint, the lawyer alleges that both used her personal identity for scripts for films produced in Hollywood by Harvey Weinstein.

According to the lawyer, other specific events such as the purchase of a dog and a horse by López also have to do with her life, since this would have occurred following the plaintiff expressed her desire to have them. In addition, situations are mentioned in which Affleck and Damon allegedly imitated events in the plaintiff’s life with a distorted representation of her image, generating a feeling of intrusion and “severe emotional distress.”

Consequently, the lawsuit seeks unspecified financial compensation that exceeds the jurisdiction of lower courts, reflecting the seriousness of the allegations raised. This court case updates similar allegations made by the same plaintiff in the previous year, which had been dismissed in 2023. With this new procedural attempt, the lawyer reiterates her claims and hopes to obtain a favorable resolution.
