The father died in a car accident hours before the baby was born
West Mangad (Thrissur) ∙ Three years following marriage; The baby you’ve been waiting for. Hours before that Kanmani was born, Sarath left without seeing him. Unaware of her husband’s death, his wife Namitha went to the hospital looking for Sarath in Petunov. Finally, the baby boy was born by caesarean section. Namitha was not brought out of the labor surgery room till yesterday evening. The family is in a state of grief as to how to convey the news of their loved one’s departure without seeing the baby.
Balakrishnan’s son Sarath (30) died in a bike accident yesterday morning at Poovathur, West Mangad. The family admitted Namitha to Thrissur Ashwini Hospital for delivery the previous evening. Sarath’s father and mother Sheela were also there. Sarath said that he would come in the morning as he was running a mobile phone shop at Pazanji Chirakkal Centre. The accident happened when he was returning with his friend’s bike following closing the shop for the night. The bike lost control on the metalled part of the unfinished road.
Sharath, who fell down on the wall, was rushed to the hospital with the help of mutual aid committee ambulance workers, but might not be saved. His friend Anurag (19) is being treated with serious injuries in Chulpuram. The relatives were in a dilemma as they might not inform their parents and Namitha of Sarath’s death. The baby was born in the followingnoon. In the morning, before the cremation, the relatives are wondering how to inform Namita and show Sarath one last look.
