Bellingham fined $32,000 and one match, but will play once morest Switzerland
The English footballer received a significant sanction from UEFA, but his presence in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 is assured.

21-year-old English midfielder Jude Bellingham was fined $32,477 and one match by UEFA “violate the basic rules of decent conduct”“, announced the organizer of Euro 2024.
The ban came following a video of Bellingham touching his genitals was made public following beating Slovakia in the round of 16 of Euro 2024 in Germany.
However, UEFA surprisingly ruled that despite the suspension, Bellingham will be able to play in the quarter-finals of the tournament once morest Switzerland, as the disciplinary action applies for up to one year.
“Such suspension does not apply immediately. and is subject to a one-year probationary period, starting from the date of this decision,” UEFA added in its statement.
On the other hand, there is the case of Merih Demiral, who was also investigated by UEFA and received a punishment that will prevent him from playing in the quarter-finals.
Demiral, who was the hero of Turkey’s victory in the round of 16 once morest Austria by scoring both of his team’s goals (2-1), made a gesture that put him in check.
His victory celebration with a gesture linked to the “Grey Wolves”, a Turkish far-right group, earned him a two-match ban from UEFA. so he would not be able to play once more until an eventual final.
