Belgium will send mobile laboratories and underwater drones to Ukraine: “Advanced equipment”

The two mobile laboratories which can be delivered within three weeks to Ukraine can be deployed near a place where there has been a chemical, bacteriological, radiological or nuclear incident, explains the minister. “It can also be used in disaster areas where maternity wards or hospitals have been destroyed. They can provide urgent aid. (…) So far, it has not been sent by anyone”, continues Ms. Undo.

In addition, ten underwater drones produced by the Belgian company ECA Robotics Belgium will also be delivered by the end of May in Ukraine. “These drones make it possible to identify all underwater threats, whether mines or spy devices”, specifies the minister. “It’s a brand new cutting-edge technology that will greatly help them.”

In addition, a hundred Belgian soldiers were released to provide 18 training modules, including “combat training, fire support for short-range artillery, mine clearance, sniper training, intelligence, infiltration, communication systems and combat training in contaminated areas as well as standard and specialized field medical support or ground-air coordination as part of close air support”, explains Ludivine Dedonder. At European level, the objective is to train between 12,000 and 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers.
