This week the rain will continue to be there every day. The amount of precipitation will, however, vary depending on the days and areas. The Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) has given its forecast for the week.
This Monday, in the north and in part of Upper Belgium, slush will still temporarily fall. In the upper Ardennes, some snowfall is expected. Temperatures will only rise to 1 degree in Hautes Fagnes and elsewhere up to 5-6 degrees.
Tuesday, you will have to take out your raincoats, it will be gray with rain and showers. In the Ardennes, precipitation might take on a wintry character. In the west and northwest of the country, light rain or drizzle is expected. The maximums will be significantly similar to those of Monday. Snow or slush is expected to fall in the Ardennes.
On Wednesday, showers and cloudy skies are expected before clearing up during the followingnoon. The IRM, however, warns that, at night, temperatures might be around 0 degrees or fall slightly below zero with, consequently, a risk of frost on the ground.
On Thursday, the weather will remain dry with low clouds and fog (possibly freezing) in the Ardennes. As the day goes on, the clouds will become increasingly dense and an area of rain will cross Belgium overnight.
On Friday, the nighttime disturbances will leave the country but a few drops are still expected and clouds will remain numerous. If until Friday, the maxima had remained stable, they will increase significantly up to 8 degrees apart from in Hautes Fagnes which will always have maxima of 1 to 2 degrees.
This weekend, maximum temperatures this Saturday will be similar to Friday. The weather will be variable and showers are expected in places. This Sunday, even if the rain will persist, temperatures will increase to exceed 10 degrees with maximums of 12 to 13 degrees everywhere except in the Hautes Fagnes where an increase is still observed. The maximums there will be 7 or 8 degrees.
