This survey is quite different from the last one, carried out in September. The MR stood out, in the lead, with 21.9% of voting intentions (17.5% in 2019). Behind, the PS (18.1%) and Ecolo (17.9%) were neck and neck in front of the PTB (15.3%). At the center of the political spectrum, Les Engagés obtained their best score since the elections (6.5%) while Défi achieved its worst result (8%). And just as much of that conducted in October by La Libre and RTBF. The MR was the leading party in Brussels with 19.7%, ahead of the PS (18.8), the PTB (15.3%) and Ecolo (13%).

This last photograph at the moment T reveals two lessons. The success of the PTB in Brussels and the fall of the PS to fourth place. Federal MP Nabil Boukili is obviously delighted with this “historic” score. However, “this remains a poll. And this is not a big surprise because, according to the feedback from the Brussels field, we feel very fed up, a strong desire for a break within the Brussels population, especially in terms of mobility and housing policy. ”. According to him, “the current majority – PS in the lead – does not understand the seriousness of the situation.”
The Forester defends himself from the “Palestine” effect. The PTB has indeed had a very strong and pro-Palestinian discourse since the attack of October 7 and the war that Israel is waging once morest Hamas. “I don’t think our positioning has an impact on this poll. It is rather our real desire to break away that speaks to the people of Brussels. We feel growing protest in Brussels. On housing policy, the PS is not responding to the emergency. As for the mobility policy carried out by Ecolo/Groen, we feel a disconnection between the parties in power and the Brussels field”.
Political barometer for the month of October 2023: the PS in a strong position to take the post of Prime Minister
”We represent this rupture, always. While the other parties represent the status quo”, PS in the lead. “The PS is paying a little for the wear and tear of power in Brussels. It personalizes this policy which people no longer want, does not provide concrete responses to social emergencies”.
The PTB nevertheless seems unenthusiastic at the idea of gaining a majority in Brussels on the evening of June 9, 2024, even if it finishes as the leading party in Brussels. “The people of Brussels want a break but we see that the traditional parties are not ready. We will not join an austerity government,” assures Nabil Boukili. Who prefers to throw all his weight into the opposition benches. “We see that, in practice, the PS and Ecolo are not ready to pursue a policy of rupture. We don’t feel their desire to move towards something else. Certainly, the PS will certainly have a more left-wing discourse than us during the electoral campaign but will do the opposite once in government.”
