Dieumerci Mbokani will be able to play for his new club SK Beveren. The Congolese striker has received permission from FIFA to return to Belgium.
Dieumerci Mbokani had not played a minute since his return to Belgium. Indeed, the attacker had broken his contract with Kuwait SC this summer because of the bad wages he received. “They didn’t respect my contract. They didn’t pay me properly. The best thing I might do then was to terminate my contract,” was he justified at the time.
After he left, it didn’t take long for him to find a new destination. It was the Belgian second division club SK Beveren who recruited him. However, Dieumerci Mbokani was unable to play due to the Kuwaiti club’s complaint to FIFA for unilateral breach of contract. But on Tuesday, the international body decided by authorizing the transfer of Dieumerci. The Congolese striker should now line up in the league on Friday.
