2023-11-30 18:30:00

It will freeze quite well everywhere in the evening and the following night under a partly starry sky and even a risk of one or another shower of sleet or snow on the coastal strip.

The minimums will reach 0° along the seaside, -2 to -6° in the interior of the country and -6 to -11° in the snowy regions of the Ardennes.

SATURDAY

Freezing fogs will be observed in the morning, especially in the center of the country.

Aside from the risk of a shower at the seaside, the weather promises to be sunny but still cold with maximums of 4 to 5° at the sea, between 3 and 0° in the plains and 0 to -3° in Ardennes

The following night will still be very frosty with 0 to -4° in most regions but between -4 and -11° in Ardennes.

Sunday

As the anticyclonic cell which will have arrived in Central Europe will quickly move away towards the east and an oceanic depression will move towards Brittany, areas of precipitation will approach the west of the country during the morning and , given the temperatures, snowfall should be expected during the day, first in western Hainaut and Flanders and in the followingnoon across the entire country.

This disturbance will precede the arrival of slightly less cold air, which explains that the maximums will be reached in the evening with -1 to +3° in the west and center of the country and 0 to -3° in the east. .

It is very possible that the layer of fresh snow reaches 1 to 5cm in the plains and that in the Ardennes it is around 25cm on the heights.

Monday

The same depression will send us slightly less cold air from the south and south-east, which will mainly give us rain in the plains but still snowfall above 400-500m in the Ardennes.

Note maximums between 2 and 4° in the plains and in the Ardennes valleys and between 2 and -1° on the eastern heights.

It will rain quite a bit which will gradually cause the layer of snow still present in the Haute Ardennes to disappear.

The maximums will be reached during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday with +1° in Hautes Fagnes to +7° along the sea.

Developments from Wednesday to Friday

Low pressure activity will become intense over the near ocean, the British Isles and the North Sea.

This development will keep us in a rapid south to southwest current which will bring us milder air coming from the southwest of France and the Bay of Biscay.

Other disturbances will affect our weather with wind and quite a bit of rain with daytime temperatures generally between 3 and 9°.

Probable trend for the weekend of December 9-10 and the following week:

The forecast models suggest little or no change with the persistence of mild and humid weather with still relatively much rain and maximums remaining between 2 and 8° depending on the altitude.

Code orange: be prepared and follow the advice
