The Belgian federal police issued a search warrant at the request of the Netherlands on Tuesday evening as part of an investigation into the robbery of a precious metals company in Amsterdam last year. A Belgian-Moroccan national from Saint-Josse-ten-Noode is reported internationally. Having carried away gold and precious metals, the booty of these thugs amounts to several tens of millions of euros. While nine suspects were arrested by Dutch police and one suspect died, four others managed to escape with part of the loot. One of them is identified as a 26-year-old Belgian-Moroccan national, Ibrahim Akhlal, born in the Brussels municipality of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode.
In addition, the investigation established that the robbery was largely prepared in Belgium so that the investigators were interested in two apartments in Antwerp in Zaventem. It was in Borgerhout that the thugs gathered for a final briefing, the day before their action on May 19, 2021. They then went in various vehicles to Amsterdam to attack the metal company valuable “Schöne”.
