The week is far from happy for Belgian talents… Luca Oyen has learned that he is unavailable for eight months due to a knee injury. Today, Ethan Butera also received bad news.
Butera announced today on social media that he had to go under the knife once more. The left-handed defender has faced complications during his rehabilitation. His ordeal therefore continues. Butera hasn’t participated in a match for a year and a half.
He seriously injured his knee at the beginning of December 2022. Normally he was supposed to be back eight months later, but problems arose. At first, he reportedly didn’t take his rehabilitation seriously enough.
Transfer to Ajax
The young man also decided not to extend with Anderlecht, despite a very good sporting project for him. At RSCA, he would have been Jan Vertonghen/Ludwig Augustinsson’s understudy if he was in good shape.
He has already changed agents three times in the last year. The RSCA therefore sold him to Ajax for 1.5 million euros, plus a significant resale commission.
There he did not appear in action for a single minute. He seemed on the way back but now he suffered a new setback.
