On October 26, 2021, at 5 a.m., the Belgian police and justice system, armed with elements collected during months of investigation, launched the largest operation once morest drug trafficking ever carried out in Belgium. Around a hundred searches are carried out simultaneously in order to overthrow the criminal organization and destroy its logistics platform.

The result is presented during the day by Eric Jacobs, the director of the Federal Judicial Police of Brussels. The searches made it possible to discover “tons of products and various materials probably impregnated with cocaine, dozens of cans of chemicals, around ten firearms, 57 vehicles seized including several luxury vehicles, luxury goods, a large quantity of parts gold, a money counting machine, around 1 million euros in cash and 300 m3 of contraband tobacco. […] We also seized countermeasures equipment: technical equipment, jammer, beacon detector, beacons, drones, submarine propulsion motor for diving“, adds the boss of the Brussels PJ.

A very big haul. Despite everything, the criminal organization seems to maintain some activities subsequently, via fugitives or through communications passed from prisons by arrested suspects. The searches and arrests of October 2021 therefore do not put an end to the work of investigating offenses which will continue until the fall of 2022.
