If the French like to tease us about our accent, it seems that our gastronomy sometimes surprises them too.
If each country has its traditions and its culture, we also all have our own little dishes that make us proud. If the French know fries well and appreciate them (we’re not going to rekindle the debate, fries: they’re Belgian!), other traditional dishes in our country would obviously have the gift of disgusting them, according to our colleagues from Paris Match .

1. Chicken compote
Who in our country doesn’t like to eat their chicken with compote? This sweet and savory dish is simple, comforting and easy to prepare. The problem for our neighbors would be the compote, which, according to them, has nothing to do with chicken and fries.
2. Tuna fisheries
Another sweet and sour dish, typically served in summer when it is hot. Accompanied by fries as a main course, or as a starter, it clearly does not attract the French at first glance.
