The pilot, a 63-year-old Belgian living in the canton of Vaud, had taken off shortly before from Montricher aerodrome. He died on the spot, the Vaud police said in a press release on Sunday.
For the time being, the causes of this accident are undetermined. The Public Ministry of the Confederation has opened a criminal investigation, entrusting the investigations to specialists from the traffic units of the Vaud gendarmerie. A specialist from the Swiss Security Investigation Service (SESE) also came to the scene.
