The European Central Bank (ECB) is likely to raise rates further in the fight once morest high inflation before taking a break. That said the Belgian central bank president Pierre Wunsch on the Belgian Radio 1.

“I’m inclined to say we need to do a little more,” said Wunsch. He says it is too early to talk regarding a real halt to interest rate hikes in the eurozone, given the stubborn inflation.

The ECB will announce a new interest rate decision later this month. ECB President Christine Lagarde has said interest rates will remain high if necessary to bring inflation down.

Other central bank governors, including those of Austria and Germany, have also stated that it is too early to pause and that the ECB is likely to raise rates further this month.
