The artist was not present at the hearing on Friday.
Vooruit wants to withdraw a work by Jan Fabre
The Vooruit group in the Flemish Parliament wants the withdrawal of a work by Jan Fabre currently on display in a committee room of the Flemish assembly. This request comes following the artist’s conviction on Friday for acts of violence and sexual harassment at work.
“Leaving this work in place would be a strange signal for all Flemings and all schoolchildren who visit Parliament,” argues Hannelore Goeman, leader of the Flemish socialist group.
