“According to the Ukrainian Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, Belarusian forces may launch an assault on Ukraine at 9 p.m.
” (note; 8 p.m. in Belgium), reports the Ukrainian newspaper The Independent Kyiv.
“This warning was issued following a suspected Russian attack on Belarusian territory from Ukrainian airspace. Russian forces have previously used Belarus as a staging post for their invasion of Ukraine“, writes the newspaper on Twitter.
Independent Kiyv journalist Oleksiy Sorokin also tweeted that “Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov claims that Russia plans to attack Belarus from occupied Ukrainian territory in order to give Lukashenko a casus belli to move troops into Ukraine.
Lukashenko also said that ‘Ukraine is planning to attack Belarus'”.
The Pentagon reacted: “We have seen no indication that Belarusian troops or forces have moved inside Ukraine”.
