A weekend of record temperatures was recorded in northern China, where the capital city Beijing faced maximum temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days. Officials warn that more dangerous heat is in the forecast and recommend that people limit their time outdoors. These were the words expressed by a 28-year-old resident of Beijing.

bq.Mr. Zhang: “I am definitely worried, although I think that I am still young and can bear it. But I hope that older people stay at home and go out as little as possible these days. The temperature is too high outside. If you are not in good physical health or have high blood pressure, you are likely to have heat stroke.”
