world

The Taiwanese Olympic Committee has announced that the team will attend the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics on the 1st.

Initially, Taiwan did not plan to participate in the tournament itself because of the new coronavirus, but it changed its policy.

According to the Taiwan Olympic Committee, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) explained that it was preparing carefully with China and was asked to attend the ceremony.

Regarding the name of Taiwan, China calls it “Chinese Taipei”, but the official website of the Games Organizing Committee uses the name “Chinese Taipei”, which is in line with the Taiwanese side’s claim.

From Taiwan, a team of 15 athletes, including four athletes, is expected to participate in the Beijing Olympics.
