A couple in Beijing, China rented a house, but six months following moving in, they were shocked to realize that they had not paid the water bill. How come they had water available for six months? After entrusting a plumber to conduct an inspection, I was shocked to find that I had been using sewage from the building for most of the year.

According to a report by Baidu News, the man surnamed Tan said that he had been living with his girlfriend since he rented this rental house in May. On the evening of the 20th, Tan Nan suddenly realized that he had not paid the water bill since he moved in. How might he always have water available? Later, when I checked the water meter on my own, I found that even if the faucet was turned on, the water flowed normally, but the tap water meter did not rotate, while the “gray water” water meter began to rotate. Feeling suspicious, he called in a plumber to help check.

It is understood that in China, the so-called gray water refers to “non-drinking water that has been treated to meet specified water quality standards and can be reused within a certain range. Because its water quality is between “water” (tap water) and “sewer” (the sewage discharged into the pipe), hence the name “reclaimed water”.”

After the plumber’s inspection, he found that the pipe connected to the toilet was actually connected to the tap water pipe. As a result, the tap water pipe and the gray water pipe caused mixed flow, so this also means that the water Tan Nan used for most of the year was sewage.

Tan Nan’s girlfriend said that she uses gray water when washing vegetables, drinking water and bathing. Tan Nan said that his girlfriend developed symptoms such as coughing and chest tightness, and he also experienced hair loss and acne. My girlfriend had a physical examination, and the results showed that many indicators were abnormal. “The doctor said that there is no heavy metal poisoning, but you should eat more vegetables.”

Tan Nan also questioned the owner of the rental house regarding this matter, but the owner said that it was renovated by the owner himself and had nothing to do with the owner. At present, the industry has also made pipeline adjustments in response to this matter, but has not made any apology to Tan Nan.
