In China, the fight once morest the coronavirus epidemic remains vigorous, and the “zero Covid policy” is prompting spectacular measures. The confinement of thousands of tourists within the island province of Hainan, to avoid further contamination following the discovery of a focus of infections, has thus attracted the attention of the whole planet.
Unsurprisingly, the Beijing Book Fair therefore goes to the ace, with a postponement that echoes to last year, for substantially similar reasons. Once once more, the organization warns a few hours, practically, of the start of the event, but the participants are now ground.
In early July, the Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair suffered the same fate, and is also postponed, from November 18 to 20. The opportunity for the publishing houses participating in the two events to combine trips…
