The artist will perform in Versailles on December 25 during an immersive concert in the Hall of Mirrors on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the former castle of the kings of France.
This Christmas, dance with Jean-Michel Jarre at the Palace of Versailles. The 75-year-old artist lifts a corner of the veil on BFMTV on his latest “hybrid” creation, an immersive “concert-show” called “Versailles 400”, which will take place in the metaverse and in Versailles on December 25.
Organized live in the Hall of Mirrors of the Palace of Versailles, this event aims to celebrate the end of year holidays while commemorating 400 years of the construction of the former residence of the kings of France.
Jean-Michel Jarre has been working for several months on a virtual Hall of Mirrors inspired by the film Tron but also by the works of Jean Cocteau and Tim Burton. A universe created thanks to artificial intelligence (AI), which the artist used “as a collaborator”.
Celebrating French innovation
Jean-Michel Jarre will simultaneously give a concert in the Hall of Mirrors in front of 600 people. The musician will also have a virtual headset allowing him to see what is happening at the same time in the room and the metaverse. His objective with this double concert: to celebrate French technology.
“It’s important to support all start-ups that help us as artists to go further and have new toys, to create a link with current innovation,” he explained to BFMTV .
Tickets are still available for sale on the website of the Palace of Versailles. The concert will also be broadcast on the M6 group’s television channels.
