Upon reaching greater notoriety, the comedian managed to collect 300 soles a week. His luck would change when his friend ‘Carloncho’ got him a spot on the small screen, specifically on Latina Televisión.

Both personalities achieved great public acceptance and shared roles in the programs ‘Verano Extremo’ and ‘Las aventuras de Carloncho y Mayimbú’.

In the midst of their “success”, ‘Mayimbú’ and ‘Carloncho’ joined forces and obtained contracts in the main nightclubs in Lima and the provinces.

However, one earned more than the other, according to ‘Mayimbú’: “I had contracts at nightclubs. I’ll tell you the truth, I worked with ‘Carloncho’. He gave me 300 soles per date, but I found out that he charged 10 thousand soles for five dates. He would give me 300 and he would charge 10 thousand”.

“When I revealed myself, he got upset. I walked away. From there he called me uncle ‘Tomate’ Barraza, for five dates he offered me 4 thousand soles, ”he added.

‘Mayimbú’ did not know how to save his money

Finally, the comedian accepted that he did not know how to manage his money in his “golden times”: “I did not know how to save. But as they say, it’s not too late to restart. The day people see me lying on the floor, stealing, then they criticize.”

“But thank God I am still current. People see me on TikTok and it goes viral,” she concluded.
