Asuncion, IP Agency.– In an act of solidarity and support for the community, women in semi-freedom from the “Hogar Nueva Oportunidad” Penitentiary Center traveled to the “Santo Domingo” Home in Asunción to donate cleaning products to assist 92 senior citizens who are housed there.
The products will be useful for decontaminating and disinfecting common areas, kitchen, occupational therapy classroom, bedrooms, terraces and consultation, rehabilitation and medical care rooms in the complex.
The donation consisted of bottles of bleach, detergent, air freshener and liquid soap.
These articles, written by women in semi-freedom, are part of an entrepreneurship training course by the National Service for Professional Promotion (SNPP), within the framework of the welfare and social and labor reintegration programs of the Ministry of Justice.
Fidelina Rodas, the prison director, explained that the idea came from the inmates themselves, encouraged by the institutional mission, with actions that contribute to generating well-being for those in need, as is the case of the 48 elderly women and 44 men, in many cases totally helpless and homeless.
