“Begging us for forgiveness does not give us back our son”

Graciela Sosa, the mother of Fernando Báez Sosabeaten to death at the exit of a Villa Gesell nightclub in 2020, said today that, even if the defendants ask for forgiveness, they are not going to return his son, and he said that at the time the defendant Ciro Pertossi testified he should have leave the room because it broke down.

“At no time did the defendants tell us anything. We prefer to be well away from them. Asking us for forgiveness does not return our son to us, “said the woman at the end of the twelfth hearing of the trial that is taking place in the Courts of Dolores, while her husband, Silvino Báez, added: “I tell society that Fernando is the only victim, they broke his head.”

Regarding the statements of the defendants Máximo Thomsen and Ciro Pertossi, Fernando’s parents indicated that they had no words on the matter.

“Speechless. For Justice I don’t know what it will be, but it did not cause me anything “, Silvino opined.

For her part, Graciela assured that, At the time of Pertossi’s statement, he had to leave the room because he broke down.

«I am only presented with the moment of all the things experienced since the day I received the worst news. I want to tell the country that the only victim is called Fernando José Báez Sosa. That he decided to go on a trip to spend his vacations and they returned it to me in a tightly closed drawer. They broke all his organs from so much kicking that they gave him, “said the woman with a broken voice.

In this sense, Silvino continued: “He signed up to donate his organs before finishing high school. Due to the blows and kicks they gave him, he might not even donate his organs.

On the other hand, Fernando’s mother avoided commenting on Máximo Thomsen’s testimony yesterday and denied having received a letter from Juan Ignacio Guarino, one of the rugby players dismissed in the case.

Finally, Graciela referred to the interreligious meeting scheduled for tomorrow for the third anniversary of the death of her son.

«We hope that tomorrow will be calm, with strength. It’s going to be a very painful day for us. Tomorrow is a very painful day for us. We want to turn that pain into help,” she concluded.
