Beer Party had to remove Upper Austrian poster display

Last week, the Beer Party presented its election posters. They only put up one triangular stand in each federal state, saying that on the one hand they did not want to “pave the country” and on the other hand they did not have the funds to do so anyway.

According to party leader Dominik Wlazny, one poster had to be removed after a letter from a lawyer including a threat of legal action: “We turned Upper Austria into OBierösterreich and violated the trademark rights of the Upper Austria Tourism GmbH. I’m sorry, that was not intentional, we didn’t want to offend anyone,” said Wlazny in the “Kleine Zeitung” podcast.

A replacement is now being sought for Upper Austria. Wlazny does not want to make fun of this incident, “but we did laugh a little bit.”
