In Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, there was good news that bottles of alcohol were poured from trucks loaded with alcohol and roads were cleaned by nearby citizens.
At around 11:30 am on the 12th, dozens of beer boxes suddenly poured from the wing body (wing-shaped door) of a liquor truck turning left on a road in Mancheon-ri, Dong-myeon, Chuncheon. Then, along with the crashing sound, the entire road turned into foam.
Nearby merchants and residents who discovered this came out with brooms and dustpans and cleaned it up in regarding 30 minutes.
Kim Ok-nam (53), who runs a store nearby, said, “I was looking out the door and suddenly a beer box fell from the car, so I immediately grabbed a broom and a dustpan.” It was over in minutes,” he said.
However, some are expressing concerns regarding the safety awareness of drivers.
If there were other vehicles following behind in the mainstream vehicle at the time, or if there was a passerby, it might have been a serious injury.
In particular, as it was a month and a half ago, citizens are raising concerns that a beer box fell while the driver of a liquor truck was turning the left corner.
In the local community, critical responses such as ‘It’s a mistake once, but not the second time is insensitivity to safety’ and ‘It seems that the driver’s responsibility to do this for the second time even following seeing it once’ followed.
Earlier, at 11:50 am on June 29, at a crossroad in Toegye-dong, Chuncheon-si, a beer box loaded on a 5-ton truck was spilled on the road, but the road was cleaned up in regarding 30 minutes with the help of the citizens who saw it.
At that time, more than 2,000 beer bottles in the box were shattered at once, and the nearby road became a mess in an instant.
The story spread across the country, and the beer company even thanked the citizens who helped clean it up.
Ms. Jang (33, Chuncheon) said, “At first, I thought it was moving to see citizens clear out their beer boxes, but the second time the same thing happened once more, there seems to be a problem with the driver.”
An official from the Gangwon headquarters of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority said, “This situation seems to have occurred because the driver was excessively speeding while turning a corner. is needed,” he said.
