LEBANON.— Hundreds of portable pagers exploded almost simultaneously in Lebanon and parts of Syria on Tuesday, killing at least nine peopleincluding members of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah and a girl, and wounding the Iranian ambassador, government and Hezbollah officials said.
Authorities targeted Israel in what appeared to be a sophisticated and remote attack that injured more than 2 thousand people at a time of growing tensions on the border with Lebanon. The Israeli military declined to comment.

Hospitals in Lebanon, collapsed due to the emergency

Lebanon’s state news agency reported that hospitals in southern Lebanon They asked people to donate blood. He reported that “the portable pager system was detonated using advanced technology.”
A Hezbollah official said the explosions were the result of “a security operation that targeted the devices.”
Clashes between Lebanon and Israel
The incident comes at a time of rising tensions between Lebanon and Israel. Hezbollah and Israeli forces have clashed almost daily since the start of Israel’s war in Gaza in October 2023.
The fighting has killed hundreds of people in Lebanon and dozens in Israel and displaced thousands on both sides of the border.
