Beef exports reached US$ 1.075 million at the end of August

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Beef exports reached 1.075 billion dollars at the end of August, according to data published today by the National Service for Animal Quality and Health (Senacsa). Since January, 221,686,365 kilograms of the product have been sent abroad.

This level of exports and values ​​is higher than that recorded in the same period last year, when 219.9 million kilos were exported for 1.054 billion dollars in the first eight months of the year.

According to Senacsa data, 1,474,171 cattle were slaughtered from January to August of this year, an average of close to 185,000 heads per month. In the last month, 193,303 cattle were slaughtered, with the Belén slaughterhouse, with 31,178 heads, having the highest levels of slaughter in that period.

As for total exports, including meat, offal and other animal products, 508 million kilograms were exported from January to August, worth 1.508 billion dollars.

In offal, 33,768,925 kilograms were exported, reaching a value of 54,604,786 dollars.

The main market for bovine exports is Chile, which absorbs approximately 41% of Paraguayan shipments, followed by Taiwan (10.6%), Brazil (9.4%), Israel (8.1%) and the United States (5.4%).
