Beda Klee restores color to the Swiss background. The St. Gallois took sixth place in the 10 km classic in Dobbiaco during the second stage of the Tour de Ski.

Beda Klee (27) had never before obtained such a flattering ranking in a World Cup event. He lost 42”9 to the winner, the Finn Perttu Hyvärinen. This Monday, he will start in tenth position in the 20 km pursuit.

The St. Gallois owes this result to a remarkable finish which allowed him to gain four places during the last two kilometers. State-of-the-art equipment and a favorable bib number also served his interests. “It was a very tough race,” said Beda Klee at the SRF microphone. “I knew how to distribute my efforts perfectly.”

Aged 32, Perttu Hyvärinen beat the Norwegians to win for the first time on the World Cup front. Like Beda Klee, the Finn was able to benefit from very fast skiing to cause a surprise.
