Bed Bath & Beyond: CFO’s wife was in apartment at time of death

The Bed Bath & Beyond chief financial officer’s wife was in their apartment when he plunged to his death from the 18th floor of a New York skyscraper, reports the “New York Post”.

Gustavo Arnal, aged 52, would not have said a word to his wife before jumping from the window of his apartment. Nor would he have left a note explaining his gesture.

His wife and daughters, who were seen outside their apartment on Monday morning, declined to comment. They were surrounded by bodyguards.

Gustavo Arnal’s death comes days following Bed Bath & Beyond also announced plans to close around 150 stores and cut its workforce by a fifth in a bid to revive its fortunes.

Additionally, at the time of his death, Arnal was facing a $1.2 billion stock fraud lawsuit that was filed once morest him regarding two weeks ago.
