BrCorse team racer from Indonesia, Aldi Satya Mahendra, made history by winning the 2024 World Supersport 300 after completing the race at the Jerez Circuit, Spain, Sunday (20/10).
Aldi finished in fifth position in the second race, which earned him five points from the race. His collection of 221 points made him 21 points ahead of second place Loris Veneman.
Aldi started its journey in World Supersport in Barcelona in March. After successfully climbing the podium by occupying second place in Barcelona, Aldi became joint top of the standings.

However, then he had his worst race of the season at Assen. He recorded the fastest lap in the first race, before ending the race in the Netherlands in eighth and eleventh positions.
In the next race in Misano, Italy, Aldi finished second in the first race, before recording his first win of the season by finishing first in the second race.
Furthermore, in Most, Czech Republic, Aldi only finished eighth in the first race, and improved it by getting on the podium in the second race. In this phase too, Aldi is in second place in the standings, 19 points behind Loris Veneman.
Aldi was helped a little by Iglesias Bravo’s failure to finish the race in Portimao, Portugal. There, he only finished sixth and eighth, only 11 points from the top of the standings.
When the race continued at the Nevers Magny-Cours Circuit, France, Aldi took advantage of the bad luck of its competitors.
Loris Veneman fell to finish 16th in the first race, while Iglesias fell on the last lap of the second race.
These results, along with its success in finishing second and third, meant that Aldi left France with a 12-point lead at the top of the standings.
The racer from Yogyakarta has not been able to lock in the title at Aragon, but when racing at Jerez, Aldi was unstoppable in ensuring the World Supersport 300 title. (Ant/Z-1)
